Hi All,
Having recently installed Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex"and was happily
playing with it, I thought that I would have a look at the list of
updates available and decided to install them - all 132 packages of
them!
I did that in batches of 8 - 10 megabytes worth by un-ticking the list
from the bottom up until I had the target quota.
Having completed the list (eventually!) I found that while the sound
system was recognised - there was no sound! Not even the drums at
sign-on!
I have had something of a look to see if there were any settings that
required tweaking to no avail. Sound Preferences has nothing and the
tests are as silent as the rest.
The question is - where, what, how to go from here? Any ideas?
