Ah, Jane S's bug. Well, my initial hunch was that her SSID needs a quirk entry for enable_msi=1, but upon rereading the bug report, I'm not entirely certain that her port state hasn't been set to mute. I've asked for clarification in comment #10. Also, I've asked her to test the latest snapshot in comment #9. There's a separate bug lurking in her driver (still present in sound-2.6 master HEAD), namely patch_ad1981() fails to correctly call snd_hda_override_amp_caps() for case AD1981_THINKPAD. This failure results in distortion via the PCM node as I've explained in comment #9. > What are the next steps? Well, I've asked for further information, but it would be a good idea to use hda-emu and hda-analyzer if necessary. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev Post to : ubuntu-audio-dev@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
