2.3.30-2 and also the newest stable 2.3.35 will build on edgy if you
disable the sasl support.
Howto build the source package of slapd from feisty on edgy:
- add the feisty repository (the deb-src one) to apt and do apt-get update
- apt-get source slapd
- you will now get the newest slapd from feisty
- cd openldap2.3-2.3.30
- edit the file: debian/configure.options and disable the following lines (by
place a # in front of the line):
--enable-spasswd
--with-cyrus-sasl
- now run the following command: debuild -uc -us -rfakeroot
if that gives any errors at building look at your build dependencies.
