Hi backports team there is an interesting idea at Ubuntu brainstorm: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/73/
The idea is to create a very fast repository for games that gives gamers an easy way to test and play the newest versions of their favorite linux games. As mentioned in the comments section this overlaps with the idea of ubuntu backports. But I think backports isn't actually the right place for these kind of packages, as packports has a review process that will slow down the release of a new package. I know this raises some questions regarding security but I see no difference in offering a repository with precompiled packages and gamers who will (try to) compile the game anyway on their own. What do you think about it? Chris -- ubuntu-backports mailing list [email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-backports
