I have just experienced the "waiting for root file system" bug after
upgrading from Gutsy to Hardy. I can fix the bug by booting the 386
kernel instead of the generic kernel (2.6.24-12). So it seems to be
specific to SMP, consistent with earlier reports, and is NOT fixed in
Hardy. Any tips would be appreciated!
