For those who haven't updated to hardy yet, the latest version you can
get from www.getmiro.com with gutsy-backports enabled is 1.1.1 which is
still a lot newer than the one in gutsy's repository.

Here are the steps required to get this to work:

1. Follow installation instructions for gutsy
(http://www.getmiro.com/download/ubuntu.php)
2. When installing, expect an error about libxine1 version mismatch. Ignore it.
3. Download 1.1.1-3 straight from miro’s archive.
4. Double click on it to open it using the debian graphical package installer
5. Expect a warning about using a newer miro-data. Install anyway!
6. Happy Internet TV experience!

I don't know how should this bug be triaged but upstream clearly states
on its website that it is not compatible with gutsy backports. Still,
this workaround will get you to 1.1.1 instead of the 0.9.8 that is in
gutsy right now. People using miro for a while will know that this is a
very positive difference.
