For those who haven't updated to hardy yet, the latest version you can get from www.getmiro.com with gutsy-backports enabled is 1.1.1 which is still a lot newer than the one in gutsy's repository.
Here are the steps required to get this to work: 1. Follow installation instructions for gutsy (http://www.getmiro.com/download/ubuntu.php) 2. When installing, expect an error about libxine1 version mismatch. Ignore it. 3. Download 1.1.1-3 straight from miro’s archive. (http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/pculture.org/Miro/linux/repositories/ubuntu/gutsy/miro_1.1.1-3_i386.deb) 4. Double click on it to open it using the debian graphical package installer 5. Expect a warning about using a newer miro-data. Install anyway! 6. Happy Internet TV experience! Still, this workaround will get you to 1.1.1 instead of the 0.9.8 that is in gutsy right now.
