1) http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=968424 - here is a thread on ubuntuforums.org about it 2) people get the error even if they reinstall 3) only SATA drives are causing the problem 4) one person reported that plugging in SATA drives to all SATA slots resolved the problem The problem is still in 8.10 (I had this problem with 8.04 occasionally - not always - when I had additional SATA disc), the newest kernel should be probably added to the list above.
