I am not too sure about the project. If we really go ahead with this project we will need full time Volunteers. There will be huge pressure on the volunteers to keep up with schedule time amid other study or office work. Above all we will need technically expert people not only to build it but also to give support. Is there any Technically expert person to volunteer for the project? Please let us know if you are interested to work hours (after hours) work for this project. Sadly understanding current scenario and volunteer state I don't think it will be possible to have a fully functional stable Distro in less than 6months. agreed with Shabab bhai about the de. I think we can go with Gnome for several reasons 1) Ubuntu itself is on gnome by default 2) Similarity with Ubuntu Default environment?? (not too sure about this one) 3) Gnome is already under Bengal Translation. We can utilize on that project (of course giving due credit to Ankur) 4) For XFCE almost 100% needs to be translated Now to go with XFCE 1) Light desktop to suit most peoples need, suitable for office/cyber cafes/composing shop 2) Different look than Ubuntu (so that people just don't come and say what's the point of it? I can use Ubuntu instead) 3) Availability of Completely new project (XFCE localization) without any tie to any other project. To go with KDE 1) really cool desktop 2) really powerful applications 3) highly customizable 4) extremely resource hungry 5) very buggy So what do people says?? any volunteer?? -- Thanking you Shahriar Volunteer, Bangladesh Linux Users Alliance http://linux.org.bd http://forum.linux.org.bd Marketing & Contents Officer, Ubuntu Bangladesh http://www.ubuntu-bd.org Endorsement: আমাদের প্রযুক্তি ফোরাম http://forum.amaderprojukti.com/ and মুক্ত.অর্গ http://mukto.org -- Ubuntu Bangladesh mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bd
