hi,
I have an edge modem, chinese, which used to work in ubuntu 8.10. I had to
configure with modprobe setserial command. But the new kernel built into
9.04 had this module into the kernel, so it would not have been necessary,
as I learnt from forums, but my edge modem would not work. Infact, the
kernel that came later got it out of the kernel, so that modprobe command
was then supported, but still the modem wont work. But as I said, it worked
perfectly in 8.10. Is it possible to use 9.04 with a kernel older than the
one it is shipped with?
Or is there any other way of configuring edge modems now?
Thank you
