sudo nautilus is not like root login. It allows you to work as root.
But the login session remains yours.
to enable root login, change your root password.
In console
$ sudo passwd root
when you have changed the password you can log out and login as root
from welcome screen.
I didnt test it. But I have heard it. So check it in your own risk.
