I don't think the TV program should be a tutorial type program. Instead it can have several parts, such as, talk about open-source, linux, history, interview tech celebrities about open-source, some quick little tips about using open-source software against the commercial ones, etc.
TV is not suitable for long term tutorial only program. There are lots of computing program, where only quick-tips and recent releases are shown. These are really good ones. I think prime-time slots are not necessary for computing show. Anytime is ok for this kind of show. News item is definitely great idea, but to have a decent rally or whatever there need to be a decent number of people participating. Otherwise the news does not look good, and people don't remember. -- M.
