There is no software which has lifetime update support. Not even Ubuntu. You have to upgrade/install to a **new** Ubuntu after a certain support time period. Windows XP has ended updates. Windows 7 will end sometime in the future. OS X does not support more than 5 years for any of their OS versions. Also, if you want to use the free/open software on the Windows.
