I don't think he's being mean here. He's trying to understand what does it really mean?
Vim is a text editor, like gedit. However, it has it's own kind of way to edit files. It takes some time to learn it. It's not for every user. I love Vim. It's my editor of choice. My vimrc changes all the time. However, it basically is built on the following template: https://github.com/nsmgr8/dotfiles/blob/master/_vimrc My current one is a bit unstable now to share as I am tweaking/experimenting some plugins and also has some specific private aliases, so will not share. But the template is good enough to see my vim setup.
