Both are outdated tutorial. 1. Run sudo apt-get install ibus-m17n 2. start iBus. A little keyboard icon will appear in top panel. 3. put the mouse pointer on the icon and click right button and enter preferences. ( http://imgur.com/Duqpg ) 4. on Input method tab select Bengali -> Unijoy from dropdown list and click add button. ( http://imgur.com/Atdvr ) 5. finally restart iBus and press CTRL + SpaceBar to change layout.
