Hi, [warning: shameless plug ahead]
Most of you will probably already know, but I guess they will not mind being reminded. The Google summer of code has started again and is searching for students to participate. For those new to the concept: Google pays a 4500 USD stipend to students that work for 3 months during summer on one of the open source projects that are participating. The open source projects offer mentoring support to the students. This concept is to my believe a great opportunity for students to get practical experience in actual system building. Guided by the OSS professionals out there, working in an atmosphere of open knowledge sharing. If you are such a student, or you know of anyone that fits the discription you better get your application form filled in and your project-idea for this summer on the rails (deadline for application is shortby) [here comes the plug] Outerthought in Ghent (the creators of the open source DaisyCMS project) is again participating in the program this year. Our engineers will thus be mentoring the participating students again. As a bonus to the Belgian students we can add some extra's to the Google offer: - you can come and work in our offices in Ghent, having an actual work-space and environment with direct access to the engineers will be helpful - as a Belgian company we can also fill in the required paperwork to let this summer-work count as an official 'training' in your education (thus gaining the attached study-credits) kind regards, -marc= [1] http://code.google.com/soc/ [2] http://cocoondev.org/daisyscratchpad/291-cd.html -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:[email protected] You can find list info and your subscription configuration options at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be
