San Francisco is a great place to be! I've been there last year to visit the
city and the Bay Region, some interesting Silicon Valley companies (Cisco,
Intel, EA, Adobe, Stanford,...), Yosemite National Park,.... and I'll
definitely go back some day!
It took about 24hrs between leaving my house and arriving at the hostel
@Mason Street, near Union Square: train Ghent-Zaventem; plane to JFK, NY;
plane to SFO, CA; bus to downtown San Francisco. Thanks to the 9 hours of
time difference, it only felt like 15 hours :)

If you need a not-so-pricey place to stay right in the center of San
Francisco, you should take a look at this site:

Summer term exams will be approaching at that time. I don't know yet how
many of them and how I'm gonna manage it, but I'll probably be too busy at
that time...
But the States, especially California....it's always tempting...
