You can say a lot of things about Linux, but not that there is no community.
I find it really strange that you say that. Linux is build on, grown and supported by the community. Millions of people dedicating their own free time and money to keep this non-commercial train rolling. All the people actively taking part in this mailing list are a perfect example.
