Hi to all, Activities : where, when and how can we contribute to the promotion of Ubuntu in Belgium : Dipro fairs, ... but there are likely other opportunities ... , which own activities ?
This could be the topic of exchanges in this mailing list and in an IRC session, for a "shopping-list" of events in the coming months. The next step could be the analyse of our possibilities : what are we able to do, and how ? Are volunteers ready to organize/help ? I presume that people contributing to this mailing list and and to the Ubuntu support points are willing to help to the promotion actions. Of course there are different levels of voluntarism, available time, technical skill, willingness, ... "As a volunteer you don't have to do anything that you don't want of course", ... but consider what you can and want do. Communication within the Ubuntu community is important. An example : when we organize an activity, the Ubuntu support points of the region should be informed (and invited for a visit, if possible). And Ubuntu related activities and news should be part of the mailing list. In my view, the use of english as common language is not a sine qua non (exclusive) condition : if you have something to communicate, try to do it in english, but if you have difficulties, use another language. To conclude and in an answer to Jan, what do you think about an IRC session on friday 20 march, starting at 20 hr., with one topic : the activities to promote Ubuntu.
