Exactly what I was thinking. There is a good reason why most open source projects prefer public communication (like mailing lists & IRC) over private communication: it spreads a message such that everybody who has the time & the skills to help can do so. Everybody can mail this list, they don't even need to be subscribed (although it makes things much easier of course, and the amount of mail one gets from this list is very small).
