IRC meeting report Present at the IRC meeting 23/09/2009 (in random order): nero1, rossemiel, jean7491, JanC, GhOsty, bbartek 1. Past and Future Events a. Dipro Antwerp on 13/09 - report It was a successful event with a lot of new enthusiastic volunteers from Antwerp area. The preparation of the team for the next Dipro fair on 29/11 was already started. b. Software Freedom Day and HCC Vlaanderen OpenDoor Day 19/09 - Wezembeek Oppem there were not too many visitors, but we were able to help some people,The contacts we made with the HCC were positive, and we had more than enough volunteers. c. Accenta 2009 Fair in Ghent 19/09 and 20/09 - report A successful event in a fairly big fair, excellent to let Ubuntu better known by the public, very good contact with Digipolis. Report and pictures are in the wiki https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/Accenta_2009 The booth was a very positive experience and we had a lot of visitors (more than in some other booths in the fair!). A lot of people (more than in Dipro fairs) never heard about Ubuntu. We should do more booths at different places like that: it is just a problem of contact and to find opportunities. Suggestions are welcome. d. Dipro Hasselt 27/09 The team (5) is complete and and the preparation is going well. WiFi is likely not available: we could use 3G if needed. e. Next events in October Dipro fairs in Kortrijk 04/10, Charleroi 11/10, Ostend 18/10 and Oostmalle 25/10 The difficulty could be to constitute a team for Dipro fair in Oostmalle. f. Next events in November Dipro fair in Ghent (08/11), Release Party in Ghent (21/11), Dipro fair Antwerp (29/11). We have to start the preparation of the release party in October: we need volunteers help for the organization/preparation of the party. 2. Promotion material: a. New posters are on sale, prices and order procedure have been published in the mailing list. b. Other promotion material We need a presentation in screenshots "how to install ubuntu in dual boot (on a generic pc)" as support of our explanation to visitors in the fairs. People having questions does not have time (and patience) to look at an exhaustive video. A presentation "on click" is easier, you progress according to the person you are talking with. rossemiel will try working on it. 3. Next IRC meeting on 30/09/2009 at 21.00 h. --
