1. _Past and Future events_ a. _Dipro Hasselt 24/01_ It was a good fair, but not that many people, some really good conversations with people. Very good work of our Limburg (Hasselt-Genk) team. Report will be soon added to the wiki. Pictures are already in. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Hasselt_2010-01-24 For the Limburg-event box, the team got 1 computer (thanks Claudio) and 1 old Laptop (thanks Lars dad). b. _Dipro Ghent 31/01_ The team is complete, the preparation is ongoing and Kenneth is coordinating the booth. IRC meeting for the participants was on Monday 25/01/2010. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Gent_2010-01-31 c. _Dipro Kortrijk 07/02_ The team is for the moment limited: yanu, wamukota and jean7491 i: we still need 1 or 2 additional volunteers (from Kortrijk area?). Coordination will start soon. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Kortrijk_2010-02-07 d. _Fosdem 06-07/02 _ JanC ordered stuff to sell at the booth (t-shirts (men & ladies), stickers, mugs, mouse mats (all Ubuntu & Kubuntu), plus keychains & lanyards (Ubuntu)). He will coordinate this event, including the wiki page https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fosdem/2010 (and the report). A dinner organized by JanC is planned on Saturday evening (06/02) with Ubuntu-people from all over. e. _Hobby & Computerdagen 20–21/02_ https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs/Antwerp_2010-02-20_21 As mentionned last week, HCC - regio Vlaanderen proposed Ubuntu-be a cooperation within their booth (total length 16 m.) http://www.hcc-vl.be/d001/content/hobby-en-computerdagen A space (about 3m width) is reserved for Ubuntu-be and a multiseat from Linux-Service. We need an additional table at disposal for promotion material and some hardware. Ubuntu-be will provide promotion material (posters, banners, flyers, and s.o. - to be determined). Volunteers: for the 2 days, we need 2 different teams of 3. Who (from Antwerp area is volunteer for this event. CD's: the stock of Canonical official CD's is very limited. It will be necessary to burn CD-R's at home before the event. Model of Ubuntu 9.10 CD sleeve (to be home-printed on a white CD-sleeve) is available in the wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BelgianTeam/ComputerFairs?action=AttachFile&do=view&target=CD+jacket+9-10-Nl-+ubuntu-be.odg) If we have anything left from the stuff we ordered to sell at FOSDEM, we might sell that at this event in Antwerp. 2. _Promotion material _ About the proposal to burn CD's for Ubuntu-be (for 10.04LTS) : - Maybe Ubuntu-nl is interested in CD's too ? - Bart promised he wants to help with the CD as he did for the 8.04 CD, with getting the CD master to the company & getting the pressed CD's back to Belgium. - Sponsors : any idea on sponsoring these CD's (reducing the cost for Ubuntu-be)? Suggestions/propositions ? - Lay-out of the CD sleeve ? logo's of sponsors ? - Wat kind of customization of the CD ? - Estimation of the price of this project ? - Who will lead this project ? 3. _Support points map status : no new information._ 4. _Things living in the mailing list_ a. The _procedure for reapproval-application_ of the Be LoCo Team is started (see mailing list). https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoCouncil/LoCoTeamReApproval First step is to gather information about past activities and plans. The wiki is the first source of information, but not exhaustive. Mailing list archive & IRC logs are other sources, but all information should be reflected in the wiki. What about relation with non-profit and (inter-governmental) institutions, schools, press and medias since 10/2006 ? Examples : - Release party 8.04 in Herk-de-Stad in 2008 : no after action report, no lessons learned for the next release party. - Fosdem 2009: no mention in the wiki. We should/will have a separate meeting about all this somewhere after FOSDEM. b. _Proposal to have regular (monthly) reporting,_ which should make sure we don't have to pose the same questions anymore in the future. Using this will make sure our reports get picked up into the international team reports. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/TeamReports and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BuildingCommunity/TeamReporting/HowTo Who will do it, based on IRC meetings + whatever news was posted to the ML? Maybe somebody wants to be responsible for it ? 5. _Next IRC meeting_ on 03/02/2010 at 21 h. -- ubuntu-be mailing list / mailto:[email protected] Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-be
