Eu alterei várias delas em ~/.gaim/guifications/themes/NomeDoTema/theme.xml
Por exemplo:
<item type='text'>
<position value='south-west'/>
<h_offset value='44'/>
<v_offset value='-6'/>
<text format='Signed in.' font='Bitstream Vera Sans Mono 9' color='#ffffff'
clipping='truncate' width='160'/>
</item>
Talvez estando omisso no theme.xml ele utilize o padrão que está no código.
