Thiago, eu não cheguei a testar o linkx, pois instalei o links2 e mesmo assim não sobrou muito tempo para brincar com ele. Mas penso que ele trata jpgs e bmps como "backgrounds". Neste caso, experimente o comando * XLOAD_IMAGE:xli & * conforme sugerido no cfg. Depois passa o resultado, talvez tenha o mesmo efeito no Links2. Por padrão, ele só mostra gifs e omite os demais formatos.
