They'll give you an idea of what kind of extra info to ask for on certain bugs. For example, asking the people with audio bugs to run "apport-collect -p alsa-base 12345" (replacing 12345 with their bug number) if they haven't attached alsa-info output or an alsa-info link....is quite useful.
