I don't believe the wiki page is used anymore to track the mentees. The LP page was made for that purpose if I recall correctly. > What we need is: a clear set of guidelines -- also for picking a > mentee -- and someone who is ultimately responsible for the mentor > program, so we know who to talk to and there is someone who can do the > things that otherwise would be forgotten. Maybe mentees could use the wiki page to e-mail a few mentors that fit their availability, then request them to be their mentor. This would require that all mentors have their available times on the wiki page. Currently the workflow on the wiki page on how to request a mentor is fine, but adding this step above may help put a mentee with a mentor faster. The only updating that would then have to be done to the wiki would be adding mentees names to their respective mentors, which should be done by the mentors themselves. > I suggest to make two or more people responsible for 'triaging' mentor > requests, i.e. responding to people, redirecting them to the right > places if necessary and process correct applications. I agree there should be a couple people who help push mentees in the right direction until they are taken in by a mentor. By having them e-mail mentors it will keep the mentees involved and in their own hands to find a mentor. I figured this was the best scenario since it all depends on the mentor as to who they take and how many they want to take, and I would see it easiest if the mentees e-mail me directly asking to be my mentee. That way if i can't take in any more I can let the mentee know directly so they can ask others. How does this idea sound to others? ~Brian Curtis BCurtisWX -- Research is what I'm doing when I don't know what I'm doing. --Wernher Von Braun "The second law of thermodynamics: If you think things are in a mess now, JUST WAIT!!" ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Statement Below is True The Statement Above is False ---------------------------------------------------------------- _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-bugcontrol Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-bugcontrol More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
