My apologies, a similar fix was proposed in https://code.launchpad.net/~sudhackar/ubuntu-qa-tools/+git/ubuntu-qa-tools/+merge/458076 which had been approved earlier this week but not yet merged. I went ahead and merged that branch and closed out the associated bug report.
