It does not work for me. I just tried it on "Dapper Drake" live CD for PowerPC under Fedora Core 4 on x86 using gnome-desktop-2.10.0-5 and nautilus-2.10.0-4; the result was "CD-R Disk" for the icon name on the desktop. Note that the target architecture of the CD (PowerPC) and the host architecture of the desktop (x86) differ.
