Don't reject this bug just yet, It has nothing to do with 24bit colors. 16 bit colors in every screen resolution size listed has the same problem, none of them work. In other distributions this has not been a problem. I have never noticed screen colors to be a problem before with operating systems (not to say that this bug does not exist with VPC).
This seems to have led me to another bug, booting off of the CD in the safe screen mode is incredibly slow. I have only tried safe screen mode twice before with Damn Small Linux, and Mandriva which work at slow to normal speeds. However the combination of booting off of a CD and using safe screen mode I have only tried in DSL which seems to work fine. I am unable to install Ubuntu because of this, I cannot load safe screen mode because it is so incredible slow. I left it over night one time to load. I assume that it did load, but then in the middle of the night the screen saver kicked on and it was simply not possible to unload the screen saver.
