That didn't help.

In the CUPS printers page it still shows:

Device URI: hp:/no_device_found
and
samsung_ml1740 "open device failed; will retry in 30 seconds..."

And lpinfo -v:

direct hp:/no_device_found

Printing a test page didn't work either. I did go ahead and install
the full ubuntu desktop load since I have a spare monitor, so I can
use GNOME's print manager, but that doesn't seem to have anything I
don't see somewhere else (CUPS http page or the .conf files
themselves).
