Public bug reported:
It seems to me that the fs are not synced before hibernation. Although
this is probably something the kernel should do, I propose to add a call
to sync to /etc/acpi/suspend.d/ as well. When I debugged a hibernation
problem, calling sync manually before suspend prevented a great deal of
data corruption (mainly open preference files like firefox preferences,
gaim buddy list, gconf settings) that otherwise occured when hibernation
failed (it probably failed before the kernel synced itself).
** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu)
Importance: Untriaged
