Public bug reported: Dapper Drake (fresh install) on an IBM ThinkPad T22 that's getting on in the years and has run Ubuntu since Hoary.
Uptime: a few days. System up to date (updated via the update-manager just about 1h before the crash; last update was ACPI; also installed realplayer10 on that occasion). Had been trying to explore hibernate/suspend, which doesn't work all that well. System "suspended" over night via the menu entry System>Quit, but on awakening, the IBM "Moon" symbol (green LCD) kept blinking. That's why I rebooted, via System>Quit>Restart. Shut down was ok, then the message Reboot line 19 31462 Segmentation fault reboot -d -f -ik (Photo of screen here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lascribe/171138032/) Sorry, not sure what package the reboot script is in, or the shutdown in general. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Segmentation fault in reboot https://launchpad.net/bugs/50427 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
