Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wpasupplicant
Until 15-25, ifconfig eth1 would cause a hard lockup, due to 1 1GB limit within the bcm kernel driver (see https://launchpad.net/bugs/44911 for history). In 15-25 this has been fixed and ifconfig doesnt cause a hang. However, running wpa_supplicant with the following now results in exactly the same symptoms, so perhaps there is a related issue? I used the following command: wpa_supplicant -ieth0 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf { Ive tried using -Dwext but this doesnt seem to work with bcm43xx, leaving it out seems to at least let me scan stations - I havent got it working yet.. } I think this is a bug because with < 2.6.15-25 and 1GB of ram I could do this, since I updated the kernel and upped the RAM to 2GB, this problem occurs. ** Affects: wpasupplicant (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Running wpa_supplicant with 2.6.15-25 / bcm34xx causes hard lockup https://launchpad.net/bugs/50432 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
