Public bug reported:
When I use the update manager gksu fades the desktop and presents a
modal window which captures all keyboard input. If one pressees the
'menu' button on a 'windows style' keyboard at least openoffice.org2 and
gedit will receive keypresses behind the faded desktop and the right-
click menu will apear. If one dismisses the menu by pressing 'esc'
everything seems normal but the background text editor still receives
the keybord presses.
steps to reproduce:
1) open openoffice writer or gedit
2) invoke gksu
3) while gksu waits for the password, hit 'menu' button
- gtk right clik menu will apear
4) press 'esc' to dismiss
5) type something
6) cancel or ok gksu dialog
7) look for what you typed in the text editor you just opened
