After the latest round of updates, the card is recognized as an
RTL-8129, but the kernel still doesn't load a driver for it. The card is
still not recognized as a network device.

lspci -v now says:

0000:00:0d.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8129
Subsystem: D-Link System Inc: Unknown device 1301
        Flags: medium devsel, IRQ 241
        Memory at 00001000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [disabled] [size=4]
        Memory at <ignored> (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled]
        Memory at <ignored> (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [disabled]

I can post all the dumps over again if needed.
