Public bug reported:

Instructions to Reproduce:
1. from the Places Menu drag your home folder to the desktop. this creates a 
usable icon which you can open and close (works  fine).
2. Try do drag a text file or jpg file into the icon with the intention to copy 
the files to your home folder.
3.Watch it not work

I've included a screenshot of the launcher properties and error, perhaps
it's useful.

I'm using latest dapper version w/ updates

Note: the original reporter indicated the bug was in package 'gnome-
desktop'; however, that package was not published in Ubuntu.
