Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager
I'm having a problem with the USB-ports being dead after unplugging my
USB audio adapter. It seems like gnome-volume-manager is blocking the
USB ports. This is always reproducable for me, and for a friend of mine
which has tested on a different computer with a different USB-audio
adapter. We're both using laptops with Ubuntu Dapper installed.
Here are my steps to reproduce and the syslog-messages I get:
* Unplugging the audio-adapter
Jun 24 17:38:05 localhost kernel: [17214132.772000] usb 1-1: USB disconnect,

The USB-mouse is still working.
* Unplugging the USB-mouse
* Plugging in the USB-mouse
USB-mouse not working, not even getting power. No new information in syslog.
* Chaning the device for gnome-volume-manager to control from the USB-adapter
to my sound card on the motherboard of my laptop:

The mouse is now working properly.
