Public bug reported:

I have 4 Laptops with Ubuntu 6.06; two working 100% fine (they get 100%
replies from ping):

Machine 1- Compaq R4000 (AMD64 but intalled i386) working 100% with
experimental driver for broadcom.

Machine 2- Thinkpad T41p works 100% fine with ipw2200.

Working so so showing the problem:
Machines 3 and 4: Toshibas M50-MX2 with Atheros AR5005G
