Public bug reported: a few weeks before dapper's release the pxe installer files were moved around, and I haven't been able to get them to work.
There may be more than one problem, but my current roadblock: the installer erros trying to wget this file from my local mirror (which is just the CD mounted on a web server): http://....binutils-static-udeb_2.16.1cvs20060117-1ubuntu2.1_i386.udeb That file is not on the CD (but an older one is.) That file name has to one of these 8 files: # from install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default kernel ubuntu-installer/i386/linux append initrd=ubuntu-installer/i386/initrd.gz from mirror webserver logs, these files are loaded: dists/dapper/Release dists/dapper/main/debian-installer/binary-i386/Packages.gz pool/main/a/apt-setup/apt-mirror-setup_0.10ubuntu2_all.udeb pool/main/a/apt-setup/apt-setup-udeb_0.10ubuntu2_all.udeb inutils-stpool/main/a/archive-copier/archive-copier_0.4.3_i386.udeb pool/main/b/base-installer/base-installer_1.42ubuntu11_i386.udeb pool/main/b/binutils/binutils-static- udeb_2.16.1cvs20060117-1ubuntu2.1_i386.udeb (last one not found, which errors the installer) ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- pxe install wants wrong file ver https://launchpad.net/bugs/51062 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
