Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-base

The machine is an Acer Travelmate 3022WTMI, the series is 3020 which is
basicly equivalent to the 3010 series.

The sound chip is a Intel 82801G (ICH-7) and covered by the hda-intel driver.
There's abolsutely no error with dmesg or when setting up ALSA or playing some
audio file.
But there's also no output. Neither with the speakers nor the front-jack.

The only suspicious message I can see is "hda_codec: Unknown model for
ALC882, trying auto-probe from BIOS..." with dmesg. ALC882 should be
covered by the latest ALSA drivers. I tried 1.0.11 and 1.0.12rc1.

Maybe I can assume some kernel problem here?

** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
         Status: Unconfirmed
