Subject: mailman: Wrong charset for German messages
Package: mailman
Version: 2.1.5-9ubuntu4
Severity: normal
The German Messages for Mailman are utf-8 encoded. However in
/usr/lib/mailman/Mailman/Defaults.py the German messages are added with
add_language('de', _('German'), 'iso-8859-1')
This results in messed up umlauts in the user's Webbrowser.
Change it to
add_language('de', _('German'), 'utf-8')
and everything works fine.
