Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub-installer

I used Desktop CD to install Kubuntu on a Packard Bell laptop (E3
series). After launching the live CD process I installed the distro on
my hd.

All steps went on without problem, I didn't notice a clear warning about
Grub installation localisation (MBR? / partition ?), and after the
reboot I had a Bios error message saying that no bootable device was
found. Rebooting with CD and choosing 'Boot from first hard drive'
showed me the Grub menu and all was OK.

I had to launch from console /sbin/grub-install /dev/hda to reinstall
Grub on MBR.

Is it only a result of my 'distraction' during install process ?

I didn't fing a system GUI for configuring GRUB, I think it would be
nice to have one, for newbies (I'm a Grub new user, having Mandriva
installed at home that uses Lilo by default, and they have a nice GUI
config tool for it).
