** Description changed: Previously reported with an older kernel here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/234873 A new report was requested. + + >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> + The difference with the new kernel, is that Network-Manager can connect to a Wifi Access point even after booting with those errors. + + However, attempting to use Wicd ( http://wicd.sf.net ) causes the network adapter to fail. (And I prefer to use Wicd, because of a easier-to-use GUI) + >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> When using the older generic kernel for Ubuntu 7.10, the hub functioned perfectly with my Belkin F5D7050 wireless adapter. But now, using Ubuntu 8.10 Alpha 5's new 2.6.27 kernel, I get the following IO Read Errors when using my wireless adapter through the hub: From "dmesg" [ 2280.565974] zd1211rw 2-2.6:1.0: error ioread32(CR_REG1): -110 [ 2280.609800] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): eth0: link is not ready If any other log would be helpful, I'll post them. Thank you for your time.
