I tried the Live CD and it would not get to the login screen. I got the usplash and then after a couple minutes, it went over to a console where there were a lot of messages scrolling by. Some of which looked like...
"Buffered I/O error on device sr0..." and " SQUASHFS error: sb_bread failed reading... SQUASHFS error: unable to read fragmented cache block... SQUASHFS error: unable to read page... " The ellipses all indicate references to numbers, blocks, and pages.
