Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-2-generic
When I enable the NVIDIA proprietary drivers (it gives me the options of
96/173/177, they all behave the same), on reboot, I get an error message
"cannot detect graphic card nor monitor" and continues using vesa
drivers at 800*600 (although "hardware drivers" states that the drivers
are "enabled" and "in use", see screenshot). Selecting my graphic card
and monitor does not fix the problem as it still loads with vesa drivers
at 800*600. The only solution is to use the nv drivers and therefore I
can not use compiz fusion. I have a geforce 7 series card, everything
worked fine in Ubuntu 8.04.1.
What files are needed to help with this problem?
