Yes, I did know smc is synced from Debian, but I also noticed there is a brand 
new version upstream, so I hoped THAT would enter Debian, not the old patched 
one. But I alsonow  realize that this would not make it into Lenny, so it's 
good that your patch was already sent.

For the translations, I'll try to send them upstream, since fixing this
problem in Debian is only a temporary solution...

If the problem of your debdiff is only changing the Maintainer, I would
probably be able to do it before september 25th, but if you can do it,
please do it, I have not much time in those days. It is not even clear
to me how the GNOME icon cache works, so I should spend some time on it
(I will do it because I'm interested in it for another package, but this
is not the best period for me).
