Last night, tried booting up with a dapper DVD with the IDE HDDs removed, ie:
was: Ide Channel 0: Master - 80GB HDD Ide Channel 0: Slave - 20GB HDD Ide Channel 1: Master - Pioneer DVR-109 Dapper DVD does not boot - panics in the same spot as above, and when i remove "quiet" from the kernel params, it seems to panic after disabling /dev/hda which is the 80GB drive. is now: Ide Channel 0: Master - Pioneer DVR-109 ...and this time it booted. Now, why would it boot for an IDE DVD drive, but not for an IDE? -- Kernel panic at boot time on 64bit generic https://launchpad.net/bugs/69046 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
