Hello! As you requested, I tested kernel 2.6.27 for bug
[Bug 215053] Initialization problem with terratec universe 7.1

The bug remains the same.
The behavior is a bit different compared to kernel vmlinuz-2.6.24-16-rt
or vmlinuz-2.6.24-12-generic. Under 2.6.24 sound worked after a
"reboot". This is not the case under 2.6.27. I did reboot twice,
and the sound did not work. If I start windows first, reboot from
windows and then start ubuntu with kernel 2.6.27, the sound will work.
Please contact me, if you need further information, like log-files etc..
