Revision - most of behavior also manifests itself with nvidia-glx-177, (which was a forced upgrade a little bit ago), though Nvidia X Server Settings resolution same as entry in Screen Resolution. GDM Login still @ 1024x768, so Gnome also still comes up in 1024x768, but to get up to 1280x800, still need to set resolution to something other than 1024x768 first, (particular alt resolution doesn't seem to matter) then back to 1024x768, wait a sec for the screen refresh/expansion before accepting resolution, then up to 1280x800 and wait again for refresh/expansion before accepting higher resolution.
Other possibly-related issue is that the screen often, (in fact, almost all the time, for almost all apps other than the terminal) does not refresh itself without requiring mouse-over, (for only the section of the window that the mouse actually passed over) or clicking inside the window/page-up/page-down to refresh the whole window, (screen refresh set to 68hz in Intrepid). -- Screen Resolution not holding @ 1280x800 with nvidia-glx-173 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/259842 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
