This looks like a possible bug in the intel driver, can you all confirm you are
using the intel Xorg driver
and which version you have by running:
dpkg -l xserver-xorg-video-intel|grep ^ii|awk {'print $2" "$3'}
in a terminal and copy the output to a comment here?
My output from the dpkg command:
xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu2
