i tried "sudo modprobe pata_amd"......nothing happened or
changed.....i ran it also with the verbose mode........i am sending
the output of gparted also....i think it might help.......
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo modprobe pata_amd -v
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo gparted

N:B:my floppy-disk drive is not connected to the computer....since it
is old & does not work properly......,after these messages,the gparted
GUI shows no device detected......so i pressed Ctrl+C to terminate the
program....i guess  /dev/scd0 should have been my hard
disk,right?....anyway,see if it can help you to help me....
